Usually made of glass or organic cotton inserts, Sunday Citizen has taken a radically different approach, creating weights from glass beads and thousands of pieces of crystal. The Sunday Citizen Weighted Blanket Cover is what you'll feel the most about. We tried the Snug Cover and couldn't believe how soft it actually is. You will be impressed by its thickness and overwhelming softness. You can choose a bamboo cover, which is one of the softest natural materials used for bedding and probably thinner than comfort cover.

Temperature

Because the snug cover is so thick and made of 100% microfiber, you'll find the Snug Crystal Weighted Blanket quite warm to sleep on. It is ideal for cooler nights or when you are a cold sleeper. Might be a bit too hot for hot sleepers. In that case, go for the Bamboo cover (even the glass insert!).

Weight

The weight of the blanket is distributed very evenly. The lining is securely attached to the comfortable cover with ties and buttons, and the crystal and glass pieces are contained in a small quilted pattern, meaning the weight never shifts.

Sunday Citizen have designed a weighted blanket that is extremely easy to care for, which we think is a huge plus.

The Comfort Cover can be machine washed on a cold, gentle cycle. You can also dry it at low temperature, which is very convenient.

The weighted liner should be hand washed only and unless it sheds a lot, it should not be washed. However, if necessary, use a clean cloth and clean water to remove stains from the weight rack. However, do not throw it in the washing machine. To dry, lay flat to air dry.

The general rule of thumb for the ideal weight for adult weighted blankets is 10% of your body weight plus or minus a few pounds. With children, you will find that they often carry between 10% and 30% of their body weight. Before letting a child sleep with a weighted blanket, make sure he can safely remove the blanket!

Let's look at an example for most adults: you weigh 150 pounds and 10% of your body weight is 15 pounds. Adding or subtracting a few pounds, the ideal weight for your weighted blanket is probably between 13 and 17 pounds.

The other way to think about it is to look at a 15 pound weighted blanket. It would comfortably calm a person weighing between 130 and 170 pounds.

Your weight and hug preferences affect the ideal weight for your weighted blanket. Most importantly, you should be able to remove the blanket from your body without assistance.
