Scholarships and awards are a way to pay for your studies. Unlike loans, grants and awards do not need to be repaid.

There are two main types of scholarships: those offered by William Peace University (WPU) andexternal scholarships(click to go to this section).

wpu scholarships

All first-year and transfer students admitted to William Peace University will be considered for merit-based scholarships and scholarships, with no further action required.* These scholarships are renewable each year if you maintain a minimum GPA.

Eligible students receive scholarships or merit scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $17,000 per year:

  • Presidential Scholarship - $17,000 - GPA 3.5+ or ACT 26+ or SAT 1230+
  • Stypendium William Peace - 16.000 USD - GPA 3.0-3.49 lub ACT 20-25 lub SAT 1030-1229
  • Beca Pacer - $10,000 - GPA 2.5-2.99 o ACT 18-19 o SAT 960-1029
  • Entrance Scholarship - $10,000 - GPA <2.5

USE:

Adults and students of professional studies (Szkoła Studiów Zawodowych) are not entitled to institutional support.

*Except for honors and drama scholarships, for which additional application materials are required.

Scholarships and Merit Scholarships | William Peace University (1)

  • Stypendium wake technology transfer

    The William Peace Pathways Scholarship is specifically for Wake Tech Community College transfer students who earned an associate degree at WTCC. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible. This scholarship is renewed annually in anticipation of good academic performance. Almost all WTCC alumni who transfer to WPU receive some form of merit-based scholarship and consistently achieve high scores while at Pacer. Students earning an AA/AS at Wake Tech Community College will be considered for this award after applying to WPU and completing the FAFSA.

  • WPU Transfer Scholarship

    Students transferring to William Peace University may also be eligible for merit-based scholarships. Students eligible for the WPU Transfer Scholarship can earn between $10,000 and $16,000. These scholarships are awarded based on the number of transferable credits earned at an accredited college or university and based on the cumulative GPA at each institution attended. Scholarships are renewable for up to two additional years, provided recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress through financial aid.

  • Leadership and Community Service Scholarships

    At William Peace University, our student body is filled with future leaders, community advocates, and world changers. These students explore their passions and careers on campus and continually contribute to the WPU community.

    WPU offers a scholarship to recognize Pacers who exemplify these qualities. There are a limited number of prizes for this competitive scholarship opportunity. Upon admission, successful students will be nominated by WPU admissions counselors and will receive leadership and community service scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,500 per year. This scholarship is renewed annually in anticipation of a solid academic standing.

    What do you need to do:Your placement advisor will work with you to submit a personal statement (video, written, or both!) and/or resume outlining your community service and/or leadership experience. Tell us about a club you lead, a mission trip you've been on, a local project you've organized—we want to know!

  • honor scholarship

    Students accepted into the Honors Program receive a $1,000 scholarship. To qualify, students must be admitted to the university by April 1. All freshmen with a weighted GPA of 3.7+ are eligible to apply. Honors applications analyze GPA, SAT/ACT, short answers, and essays.

    Note: Unlike other WPU scholarships, the Honors Scholarship may require additional information. Students may be asked to speak with the Honors Committee. Honors scholarships are renewable for an additional three years of study at William Peace University, provided recipients are actively working to complete their honors curriculum and maintain a 'B' (3.00) average.

  • Beca de Honor Phi Theta Kappa

    WPU wishes to congratulate and honor those students who have demonstrated high academic achievement at the two-year/consecutive college level and will continue their education at WPU. If you are or were a member of PhiThetaKappa, simply submit proof of membership to your admissions counselor and WPU will award you an additional $2,000 PTK scholarship along with the Merit Scholarship.

  • theater scholarship

    Students who are interested in continuing their studies at the William Peace University College of Fine Arts are eligible for an additional scholarship. Students must complete an interview and an interview with the appropriate department. Students must meet the minimum entry requirements and must be first-year applicants to William Peace University. This scholarship is renewable at the discretion of the BFA program director.

  • support for brothers

    Siblings who are also enrolled in a full-time program at WPU receive a $500 scholarship per semester. Students may apply for scholarship renewal each year when both siblings are enrolled at WPU. Students must notify the Financial Aid Office of their eligibility.

  • Support for COVID-19 | HEERF/CARES Act

    William Peace University is pleased to offer students the opportunity to receive financial assistance through the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Funds. WPU uses the application for all emergency grants it findsby clicking here.Students receive stipends for COVID-19 related expenses incurred for the cost of attending classes, including transportation, technology, lodging, food, and personal expenses. William Peace University sends correspondence to each recipient via email stating that the funds will be available within 10 business days via direct deposit or check. There are limited funds available for the above scholarships. All awards cannot exceed tuition fees and are determined by an appointed committee. The Supervisory Board may change these restrictions at any time. Students must meet certain standards regarding renewable energy. It is the student's responsibility to know what these standards are and to adhere to them for the duration of the scholarship and/or scholarships awarded.

Your financial aid is subject to review after final verification of the credits transferred to the program along with the number of hours enrolled and successfully completed each semester/semester. Your award may be reduced based on final funding from awarding agencies (NC General Assembly, US Department of Education, etc.). Students must make steady progress toward their degree to remain eligible for certain financial aid programs. Students may also be asked to submit additional documentation to verify the information submitted on the FAFSA.

External scholarships are funds provided by entities outside of federal, state, and institutional aid programs. Outside scholarships are another way to pay for education without taking out a loan.

  • Important: if you receive an external scholarship

    Federal regulations require that these scholarships be included in the student's financial aid. This means that if you are receiving an outside scholarship, you must report it to William Peace University so our team can include it in your complete financial aid package. The external scholarship is first applied to the student's self-help portion of the award (federal work-study loans or need-based loans) before reducing WPU scholarships and grants.

    After the full portion of the self-help award is replaced, WPU scholarships and grants may be reduced, dollar for dollar, by the remaining amount.

    How to apply for external scholarships

    Students must notify the financial aid office of all outside awards received, including awards paid directly to you. Submit external scholarships to our office via the Internet.scholarship application formand attach a copy of any correspondence (for example, letters or emails) from the grantor, if available.

    How to Get Outside Scholarship Funding
    Scholarship awarding agencies must transfer students' external scholarship payments directly to WPU student accounts. The scholarship check must be made out to William Peace University so that funds can be deposited directly into the student's university account. The student's name and student ID number must be included in the memo section of the check.

    Checks payable to the student or payable jointly to the student and the WPU student must be signed by the student before sending the scholarship check to our office.
