What is ceramic fiber blanket insulation?

Ceramic fiber insulation layer is manufactured from spun ceramic fibers and is needle punched for exceptional strength in high temperature insulation applications. Ceramic insulating coating is generally offered in three standard grades defined as commercial grade, high purity, and zirconia. All types are lightweight and thermally efficient, giving the material the advantage of low heat capacity and complete resistance to thermal shock. Blankets are produced in different dimensions, temperature classes and for different purposes. Our office also provides a Bio-Soluble blanket, which is environmentally friendly. If you don't see a specific blanket listed, please contact us directly and we'll be happy to provide you with a custom quote.

Working at higher temperatures?

Ceramic fiber blanket insulation is made of polycrystalline mullite (PVC) wool with a rating of 3000℉ (1649℃). This grade of ceramic insulation coating contains no binders, additives or sand content. The material does not contain RCF and is resistant to most corrosive media in oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. This material is highly specialized for the most demanding and extreme temperature requirements.

Complex shapes and speeds of gases.

Ceramic fiber wet wool (WW) blanket is specifically manufactured for insulating complex shapes and installations under high velocities of hot gases. The material is impregnated with inorganic binders and packed in a clear polyethylene bag to keep the binder moist during transport and storage. The manufacturing process results in flexible insulation that can be molded into complex shapes on site and forms a strong, rigid structure when air-dried. Also, the material can harden from direct exposure to heat during application. The material has a dry density of 12-18 lbs/ft3 (190-290 kg/m3).
